Garden Focaccia Recipe!

Updated: Jan 10, 2022

It is called "garden" focaccia because the best way to make focaccia is with whatever is fresh from the garden that day. Whether it's just herbs or you have tomatoes and pepper, nothing can beat a fresh garden focaccia!

Servings: 1 sheet pan (16 pieces)

Ingredients:

  • 725 g flour (5 cups)

  • 400 g (1 3/4 cup) warm water

  • 2 1/4 tsp yeast

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • 1 tbsp salt

  • 1/2 cup + 1/2 cup olive oil

Directions:

  1. Combine warm water, yeast, sugar, and salt. Whisk until combined. Let sit until bubbles appear and the mixture is aromatic.

  2. Combine flour, olive oil, and yeast mixture into bowl of stand mixer

  3. Mix for 7 minutes on med-low

  4. Oil a clean bowl with olive oil and add dough

  5. Cover and let rise for 1 hour at room temperature

  6. Preheat oven to 425F

  7. Olive oil a baking sheet and begin to spread dough the size of the sheet

  8. This is the time to add your toppings

  9. Once you have finished your focaccia design, sprinkle with olive oil and let it sit for another 30 minutes

  10. Bake for 25-3o minutes or until golden brown around the edges

You can use any ingredients you have to top your garden focaccia: mushrooms, edible flowers, herbs, veggies, etc.
