It is called "garden" focaccia because the best way to make focaccia is with whatever is fresh from the garden that day. Whether it's just herbs or you have tomatoes and pepper, nothing can beat a fresh garden focaccia!
Servings: 1 sheet pan (16 pieces)
Ingredients:
725 g flour (5 cups)
400 g (1 3/4 cup) warm water
2 1/4 tsp yeast
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp salt
1/2 cup + 1/2 cup olive oil
Directions:
Combine warm water, yeast, sugar, and salt. Whisk until combined. Let sit until bubbles appear and the mixture is aromatic.
Combine flour, olive oil, and yeast mixture into bowl of stand mixer
Mix for 7 minutes on med-low
Oil a clean bowl with olive oil and add dough
Cover and let rise for 1 hour at room temperature
Preheat oven to 425F
Olive oil a baking sheet and begin to spread dough the size of the sheet
This is the time to add your toppings
Once you have finished your focaccia design, sprinkle with olive oil and let it sit for another 30 minutes
Bake for 25-3o minutes or until golden brown around the edges
