About the event
Learn how to raise and harvest chickens. The first part of the class will be lecture style where we will discuss: raising chickens, chicken anatomy, butchery skills, etc. The latter part of the class will be a the hands on part where you will have the opportunity to harvest your own bird. All equipment and birds will supplied. Please bring a cooler to take home your bird after the class. Please dress in layers, close toed shoes, and waterproof gear. Processing animals can get wet as we will be using several water elements. Please come with an open mind and prepared to participate in all parts of the class.
Each guest will receive 1 bird to process on their own. Additional birds can be supplied for $20/bird.
*We will have a bonus portion of the class afterwards if you can stick around. We will be making fresh liver pate and utilizing other organs supplied by our chickens. This bonus portion is not required, however, it is encouraged if you want to learn more about organ meats and how to cook with them.
